Re:: quick clean up and get it going for camping Spring 2010

I have been tossing around the idea of getting a camper or lifting my SC back up to camp in, but in talking with a friend it was suggested to leave the truck as it is and find a Bay westy. A light went off and I recalled one sitting at a friends place. I made a few calls and made the deal, for a steal.

I have been told the first owner was an flyboy and did a special order for the camper. I assume drove some in Euro and shipped it back. At some point the bus was sold to a few times and then passed to the PO that I know. He was going to repaint and redo but lost interest so I got it. I have a few papers for it, scans and pics later but the service book looks to have stamps from Euro VW d'ships, very cool.

I have located the bumper, hope it has the VWoA over riders and the front 60 (of the 60/40) seat. I just need to get them from the shop/friend.

Plans are to get the brakes redone, get a 1600DP for it, scuff and paint and camp it. This will be a bit of a surprise for the wife as we were talking about a camper and this just came up.

Floors are good. I need to find the cabinets or just patch the cargo floor area. The rear shelf metal is junk, needs metal, located already. Needs all new inside panels and some canvas.

As we all know, this thread is worthless w/o pics, so...

Looks like a good start. I'll be getting on my 69 again as soon as $$ allows.
