Default Windshield cutting

Has anyone cut their own windhield, or I should leave the cutting to a pro? I have never cut glass before but have watched it done. All I want to do is cut a few inches off the top of my new windshield, after cutting off the top of my frame, which has already been shortened. I want the windshield to be like 2" taller than the frame since I'm a big dude. Any advise from those with that experience?
