worked on my model a frame tonight. Have the front spring bolted on and the shackles hung to the axle, just need to get the rod ends to mount my bones.
I have decided I am going to finish the v-rod and sell it at bug o rama (hopefully). If I can get 3k out of it (all the bodywork done and ready for shinny paint) running, etc. Then I can buy a nice 5 window 31 model a coupe instead of the 4 door I have lined up. cleaned up the pan, got about $10.00 in change when I took the tar boards off. Also stiched up the seam where I sectioned it. Worked on the back panel and got that sorted.
On a seperate note, my "bones" on the model a are split sanded, bungs in, and purdy black. Have the front end hung. Just need some heim joints and I can get the front all together. Waiting on some mounts for the motor so I can hang my 289.

Added some structural support at the bottom of the a pillars. I also ran a complete bead across the door tops and filled the holes. Also ran a bead where the tack welds held the back panel on. All that is left to do to the body is stitching up the cowl and the dash and she will be ready for bondo.

almost done with the body
all I have to do now is put the cowl vents (crotch coolers) in, and finish the dash. Then it's bondo time.
after that all the mechanical crap, that I dread. I have to rewire it and hang the front end, and finish raising the transmission.

worked more on the dash, almost done with the dash now, just need to get that piece from a bus dash to do my speedo hole.
Things to do before bug o rama (gonna have the raw look):
1. finish winshield post
2. Install crotch coolers
3. make bed mounts
4. finish dash (almost done)
5. move pedals and shifter (not using the hyd. pedal so this should be very interesting).
6. mount steering box and column, 14" behind beam
7. get some safety glass cut for the windshield (imagine that, no plexi-shield)

Got the crotch cooler welded in!!!! and ran outta wire
I think Ive gone through at least $150.00 in welding wire alone on this beast. I dont wanna think the cost was on all the cutt off wheels...
My grinder started on fire and the cord fell out, took it back to return it and when I was standing in line two people were buying the same grinder and said something to the clerk. Needless to say I was told to just grab another one, (no reciept) and get the hell outta the store. But in a very polite way...

Today I got some chromies for the front so I got chrome on all fours, ordered my adapters for the back. Should be in this week.
Lengthened the steering column today, box mounted. She steers under her own power!!!!
finished the windshield posts.
Finished filling all the holes in the dash. Still need to get another bus guage holder so I can do what I have planned. I am going to weld two together side by side so I can have a spedo and a tach.
Things to do to go on a maiden voyage:
1. move pedals and shifter (not using the hyd. pedal so this should be very interesting).
2. get some safety glass cut for the windshield (imagine that, no plexi-shield)
3. wire it up
4. run brake lines
I am thinking about running without a truck bed for a while. I think it looks better without.

This is the car I had in High School:
1969 cal-look circa 1993-94
1641 motor, 120 cam, dual webbers and a strait stinger (no baffle). Oh and 2 12" woofers, 2 10" woofers, and 2000w of amplifiers 3 total. The back seat was nothing but speakerbox. I miss that car.

Removed all the leafs in the beam, and put in threaded rod. Ordered air shocks for the front for the ghetto air ride.
welded all the gaps in the doors.

FINSHED THE TRANNY MOUNTS THURSDAY NIGHT, AND SHORTENED THE SEAT BACKS.
I THINK I'M GONNA SPRAY IT IN NAVY BLUE SATIN FOR THE SHOW, AND SOME ALUMINUM PAINT FOR THE SUSPENSION PEICES.

got a hell of a lot of shot done today.
Filled all the holes,
made the rocker panels,
flushed some of the trim stuff on the caddy cowl,
ground down half the car,
removed the hinges,
started bondoing the pasenger side...
realized that I am going to need more than a gallon of bondo...
MORE SANDING AND GRINDING TOMOROW.

air ride installed in the front, has about 6-8" of travel. I need dropped spindles to bring it all the way to the ground...
...going to get an airkewld back set up and modify it slightly. For air management I am going with some electric valves and some gas tanks, not sure what gas you put them in but two 40lb tanks should do the trick. Space is limited so I could probably fit those two under the hood.
