Default Pics of Volksrod "Truck"

How about posting some pics of your volks rods that are done truck style. Been going thru the gallery. trying to get some ideas for the cab corners and bed. Need to finish by T4 2056 fdor the Bus and my lowered 73 first. But going to use a 69 I bought d=for $200 and make one. Trying to decide if want to leave the top on or not. If I can figure out the cutting down of the windshield (read some post on that also) would like top so I can drive it year round. Think it would look good if I can figure how to use a Bus windshield and roof, with a rear window made from a 59 hatch I have. Anyway would you folks please post some pics or point to some links for ideas>

Minnesota bug truck. Awesome work.
Marks truck was awesome. Both used a modified 50's pick up truck rear wall, iirc both were fords but I'm probably wrong on that. The cab corners are available repop.
Can't forget Altasein (sp), that's RayDeans' truck he did an awesome job on his cab roof and corners. Then he went and did a small scale one for his boy that was just as bad ass!
zimrod. Charlie used a bus rear window in Zim's latest incarnation of his truck.
Theres one on here with a split bus roof and a split windscreen.
The One with the reversed door windows is cool. Iirc it Showed up in a show thread then a dedicated thread.
Search RPU or roadster pickup as a lot of the trucks on here have been roadsters.
the milkwagen and the other similar cars may also give you some ideas for a roof.

Yeah Ray-Deans is REALLY nice. Mine has a flat wall that was already there in the old roadster body that works just fine, all we did was add the single cab bus rear upper to it, with 8" cut out of the center, Bugdust grafted it into the roof and sides. You can see all the pics on the last 10 pages of the thread Zim's RPU. Skim over all the crap.

I never can find the old pics of Butcher Will's truck. It's the one I took inspiration from. Then there was Tobias's truck. Can one of you other "pic-whores" help me out?

Can't find a picture of Tobias' truck bigger than a thumbnail but found this cool pic while looking during a seriously kick ass lightning storm.

Of course I can... you do remember that my volkstruck was originally Butcher Will's right?

As it was delivered...

Yup, but I was talking about the chop top, not the rpu. The one with the spider web tail gate and the two door cab back construction like on Al. And it had some vents in the hood that were from a house or something like that. I only had a couple pics of it, but they are long gone....

Got a question for all of you that have a "topless" ride. Do any of you have provisions for a rag top, side curtains, etc?

So. That tells me that no one has ever thought about side windows or removable top. Might just have to consider something like that on my project.

They have been done. There is a thread here somewhere. Search "Carson Top". And there is a Miata top going on one, there used to be a removable hard top.....

Got any pictures? I have been toying around with the idea of making a pickup out of my Squareback with my Chevy V8 project with a removable top

Here's a couple more of mine taken last fall. It's a '48-'55 Chevy truck cab. It had relatively rusted out cab corners, and I was able to purchase a new corner for pretty cheap.

I've used the back of a '37 Ford pickup.
It was the perfect width already. All that needed doing was a very small amount of shrinking of the edge that butts up to the beetle side. Then cut the bottom to suit.... easy! Even the swage will be easy to match to the beetle

Ignore that deck tho. That was just mocked up for the show. But it will be getting a Ford/VW mix chucked together
