No matter what anybody says, do what makes YOU happy.

That stated, I don't run rear fenders, but I love the smooth look of yours. Removing the taillights makes a huge difference.Very nice car you have !

By the way, what ARE you planning to do for taillights?

I have been thinking about the 40' Ford nose on my VW for a while now, but could never visualize it. I like the way it looks after seeing yours. perhaps one day if I find one cheap enough, I will bolt it up to my car as an homage to yours.

Actually, on second thought, it looks like crap. I hate the wheels, too. I'll do you a favor and run down from Tucson to Riverside and take the hood and wheels off your hands cheap, to eliminate further embarrassment. I'll even throw in my stupid alloy Rivieras in to sweeten the deal.

In my opinion, I think if the rears were bobbed just a bit, it would look more in step with no fenders oin the front.

2 & 1/2 INCHES WIDER?? That's the exact opposite of 'bobbed'! (and disgusting....LOL!)

My .02, I don't care for the 50/50 look much. Looks like a 'lack of commitment' to me... Some States don't give you that option though...and require rear fenders..

Pariah, I've always thought your car would look so bitchen(more so) if you took a pr. of rears, flipped them and grafted them to some fronts, .....kinda like what MarkH is building. Except mount your H/Lights on top of the fenders. More in keeping with your 40 Ford nose. just a thought.....
Aloha

Thanks :) the previous owner actually put the '37 front end on for me.. Hotrodheb took the front fenders off and cut it just right to fit the extension...

I run 15x5 up front and 15x8 in the rear, those are the fiberglass 3" wider rear fenders..

I always wanted one of those wicked beams that TinBeater mocked up, but he got busy and I think that project got scrapped..

I thinks it looks better to have the rear fenders on than take them off and not trim the rear apron. I left a little bit of the fenders on mine and blended them in and trimmed (bobbed) the apron so it still seals the engine compartment from the hot air. I dont have any pics on my comp. any more, it shit the bed a couple of months ago and lost them all. I do have pics in my gallery tho.

If my car were a baja in its previous life then yes fenderless, but since it is straight and solid other than what was a front apron it's not getting cut in the rear. This pic is before i lowered the back. The front has had the air shock treatment and is laying framehead in this pic.

I will soon be returning the car back to stock but i will be building another volksrod, something more ratty
Here is what it looks like fully clothed, 2'' wider fenders, stock heightders
