Default Scat bus shifter in EARLY bug?

I've got a 66' and I'd like to use a Scat bus shifter. I've already done a search and came up with a great thread:

http://volksrods.com/forum/showthrea...at+bus+shifter

That pretty much sums it up, except I have an earlier bug, meaning the shifter is further forward.

So the question is: With the Scat shifter hit my dash?

I am aware of my other options, ideally I'd like a "performance" shifter, but a bit longer than stock (16" at least)

Thanks for the help!

(Why do I feel like going to the restroom after talking about Scat products?)

Get a short shift kit. That should take care of the problem of hitting the dash

I think that might also be the solution to spacing the shifter higher, like it says in the thread I saved?

I bought one of those about 29 years ago and never did put it in the car, then it got misplace and has never been found

How much of a change does one of those do to a stock shifter once the bushing in the tunnel is replaced, anyone know?

I may buy another one soon

Next time try posting your question in the thread you searched and found. Makes more sense to me.
