Where do I start...
Been a long time VW fanatic. Started out with aircooleds. First one was a 68 Autostick but quickly moved into Type 3's-
Buses, Baja's... yeah, I'd played with all of them. Over the last decade or so I moved into MK1's. It seems like I've had them all over the years-
Caddys
Cabbys
Even a Swallowtail (twice)
MK1's got so deep into my system I actually started a business strictly to support the MK1 community (which is shockingly quite large)-

My heart has always been in rods. All shapes and styles. It was how my dad brought me up. The issue was growing up I never had a rod budget so VW's filled that spot. My latest build is an 81 Rabbit Pickup with a real hot rod theme to it. Its my shop truck-
Put a ton work into making feel hot rod without loosing that it is Rabbit pickup. Got laid out (7" lower than stock/ static). The front track width has been narrowed 2" and I have it sitting on 165/50's on 15x4 wide 5 steelies powdercoated red with smoothie caps.
Shaved the bay (painted it to match the wheels) and hid all the wiring-
Motor/tranny plans include a 5sp (painted VHT wrinkle and ready to drop in)-
and a 2.0L (ABA/JH hyrbid) with triple 34 ICT's running on progressive linkage. This shot shows a 1:1 scale profile of the intake will look like once installed (I will worry about leveling out the carb flange once the plenum is built)-
I am also in the middle of making bracket setup to hang a GM Single Pole Alternator. Wanted something a little different-
Other subtle changes- master cylinder relocated under the dash-
2.5" flipped and dropped tie rods-
Many many more hidden treasures in there.
My next venture will either be a chopped square on a frame chassis and a SBC under the hood or a full blown volksrod. Kinda depends on $ at the time. In the meanwhile I will keep plugging along with this truck and trolling your fantastic forum!
Thanks for looking!
