i broke my ebrake how do i fix it?

i was trying to get my axle nut off teh other day and instead
of makeing something to hold the hub i used the ebrake
i fugured it would slip before anything would break
well i was wrong
anyway anyone ever had this happen
where is the first place i should look
sounded like the cable snapped but i dont know
just thought i would ask here before
tearing more stuff apart

if you got the nut off, pull the drum and just inspect all the brake parts. if the cable snapped you should be able to draw the broken cable out from the drum end. make sure you didn't damage the brake shoe adjusters, backing plate or wheel cyl.

Well now you did it!! :P

I dought the cable broke, the brake assembly (shoes etc) prolly fell apart,
now you must pull the drum to fix it.

i never did get the drum off
i probably can though no big deal
wasnt even anything wrong to begin with
i just wanted to look at something dont even remember what now
if i were to get in and raise the back and press the pedal and have someone try to turn the tire
guess thatll tell what broke
or that may mess something up to?
the front act off a different circuit on the master doesnt it
so i should still have front brakes
i havent driven the car for a few years so i am not in any hurry to be able to stop it

i keep forgetting that most of you guys are young and have families and day jobs. most of that's behind me now. i basicly live alone and run a small vw shop out of my backyard so i'm pretty much a free man. i get up when i want, play on the computer and drink coffee till i'm ready to walk in the backyard and open my shop. then i either tinker with somebody elses bug or work on my stuff. when i've had enough i wander back up to the house and either play on the net or fire up the big screen. if i get bored i go to auctions or yard sales or go hang out at a buddies shop. i gotta get a life :P
