Re: What car did you drive in Highschool?
  LMFAO
Those cans remind me of My first car - a Fiat Bravo.
I had made a Tool box in metal shop, one day I was bored so took
the tool box and cut it up and made a really cheasy hood scoop
and what was left became a really small wing on the back.
I thought I was cool to until I hit 30 mph and the Makshift hood scoop flew off into traffic. Got allot of looks though

Re: What car did you drive in Highschool?
I rocked several skate boards through high school.....didn't get my first car until I joined the Army. Still have it, 25 years later. Drug it all over the place and put it in storage when I was overseas or deployed. '62 Baja.

Re: What car did you drive in Highschool?
My first car was my 72 super, that turned into a
81 D50 2X4, that turned into a
72 Ford F250 2x . 360 auto with a limited slip. that thing would get stuck on flat wet grass
72 Lemans sport 350/350, got it back from a friend when he needed rent money after the block froze, like water froze
I also drove my 4 wheeler (84 yamaha moto4 225) to school when the Ford wouldn't start. Mom was less than thrilled But I made it school
In the summer after high school, it turned into a 84 D50 4X4, a 69 bus, then the 68 Chevy.
(the chevy, lemans, 4x4 D50, (behind the lemans you can see the top of the 2x4 D50)
 the bus and the 2x4 D 50

Re: What car did you drive in Highschool?
I had a Lambretta LI 150. Was a series 2 (the first one with the light in the handlebar moulding) with fancy paint and lots of chrome doodads hanging off it everywhere, and yes ... I was a Mod back then when I was 16 (in 1965) ...

Re: What car did you drive in Highschool?
Crap-- I must be the oldest fart on this site. High School 1954-1958. But heck, I can still out drive all you young whippersnappers :)
Like I said earlier, first car was a 1953 Ford flathead, then a 1955 chevy with a 345 HP hi-performace 348, 4-speed, 4;56 rear end, bridge type traction bars, no front bumper, no radio, all stripped down and the battery in the trunk over the right rear wheel, ran slicks on the street when not raining = weekend warrior. Then a sleeper 1958 chevy 2 dr, lots of fiberglass and built the same way as the 55. Also had a car (D/G) that I ran on the drag strips in 63-64 running at the national record at that time and drove a A/A on the strips for a buddie of mine. My next door neighbor drove the Green Monster (look it up) and also had a dragster with a Allison aircraft engine.
PS. Also used to have a airplane that was stressed for 9+ and 6- G's with about a 7 to 1 power to weight ratio. Even more fun.

Re: What car did you drive in Highschool?
Started driving in 10th grade. When I could, I drove my mom's 78 Mercury Monarch. Was yellow, 302, wire wheel hub caps, and an 8-track tape player! Got my first car during my senior year of high school, was a 74 Camaro with a 350 and a cassette player lol.

Well the old guys on this site are the coolest old guys you can really find anywhere. So when you call us whippersnappers we are highly offended! ... just kiddin. I really feel like being born in the 30's would have been more appropriate for me. I'd rather a in car phonograph then a CD player any day.

Re: What car did you drive in Highschool?
My high school years were 79-82. I drove my 68 GTO, still have the car. After rebuilding the engine and repainting it, decided it was too nice to drive to college and then when in my senior year I built a 74 V8 Vega. Completed that about 4 months before graduation and it was my college car for the next 5 years. Had a 350 SBC, T400 trans, 12-bolt rear with 4.10 gears. 3500 rpm at 55 mph, not very practical for extended freeway cruising, but a whole lot of fun getting up to speed. Used to even chirp tires going into third gear, second gear was a complete spin the tires and pitch a bit sideways, ahh the memories...........
I bought my first car and learned to drive in it when I was 14 with a 61 VW manx style dune buggy. Mighty 40 hp 1200 and all. Insurance when I turned 16 became way too much as it suddenly became a custom fiberglass bodied vehicle and the cost for insurance was more than the car was worth. So I sold it for a small profit after I had fixed it up some and made it a nice driver. The buggy is still in my hometown, now it has a big size turbo engine.

Re: What car did you drive in Highschool?
Took my test in my Aunt's cool Pinto wagon. Special ordered w/v6 and duel exhaust. Drove Dads 76 Doge van The "Yankee clipper" dark copper color, 225 slant, 6 Hurst 3 spd floor shifter. Rabbit High back buckets and a home made Couch/ Bed. "No Dad, not sure how the front suspesion and grill got packed with snow. Never properly broke in that bed. Moved From New York to Texas for my senior year. Started with a 62 Nova wagon, pulled the blown 194ci. And added a 230. Never finished that. Cause I bought the "Bondo Buggy" 67 Mustang coupe. PO pieced together from junkyard hulk. 5 colors, G-60's and air shocks...I was Bo Duke! That car , survived my Senior year and eventually gave it life to fix my Then wifes 68 Mustang coupe.

Re: What car did you drive in Highschool?
I drove a few different cars when in High School
Drove my 72 VW Bug during my junior year in 82, then the last quarter of my junior year I drove my 69 Ford Galaxy 500
Senior year I started out in the Ford until it broke, so I rode the bus to school until my back accident in December 1983 (bus driver slammed on the brakes while I was walking to the back, I busted my til bone on the dash of the bus). After that my dad gave me his 75 Olds Cutlass Supreme which I drove until I graduated in 84, then I bought another Bug to drive
Wish I still had all the VW's I have owned, I still have my Rail Buggy since building it in 1990 and my 66 Bug I bought in Spring of 1994, just a bunch of parts from past VW's

Re: What car did you drive in Highschool?
1937 International dual wheel flat bed with a 401 nailhead behind the cab and a 6" drive shaft. Dual stacks shot flames out the top. I was the only kid in school that could pull wheel stands. I guess I was the only one that could lay four streaks of rubber at once, too.
You might be a redneck ...

Re: What car did you drive in Highschool?
Dang the Chevette's seam to be a reacuring car.
Ok I'll admit it I owned one. But just to flip it.
Bought it from a girl for $50. Opened the hood put the coil wire back on and
drove it home. Sold it two weeks later for $800 to another girl I went to college
with. Also drove a 71 Monte Carlo - the year with the crazy long hood and trunk
big enough for a marching band to fit in.
It was so low I would get stuck on the speed bumps at school if I didn't hit
them Sideways.
