Hey there, so I have this guy that wants the front bumper from my '71 Super Beetle. I am gona make a small one for the front anyway so I told him to pay the shipping and buy me a bottle of Jack and it is his! He is all for it, but he has a '74 Bug and I want to make sure it will work for him. Will it?

No
74 has the shock absorber bumper brackets.
It will fit but look really dump. I'm not sure if he can
swap bumper brackets though.
The bumper itself is the same width etc.

I was gona make new mounts with my custom bumper to tuck it where I want so if I send him the bumper and brackets would it bolt up? That is IF he wants to do away with the shock absorber ones.
According to this, 68-73 are the same. 74-79 it changes.
Just send in a pic of your mounts and brackets to make sure.

I have an old blade on my 74 std.
My attraction to volksrods is that these are bottom-feeders where things are still real ... people scraping together parts, doing their own work and often on a tight budget. Real hot rodding is still alive here.

I told the dude a 5th of Jack and pay the shipping of his choosing and it is his, mounts too. I will know today if he wants it of not, he probly wont as he is not the type. Any takers?
