Hi all names Otis lee Hafley an I think I like vws a lil. I'm trying at being a jack of all trades. I'm left handed an see things a lil diff... I worked in body shops ( helper in high school), trim trees , all kinds of uhpostry,3 diff tattoo shops ( stabbing an slinging ink), factory work , cook, an now lay all flooring but hardwood...
Ok my first car was a datsun 210 but it don't count as I wrecked it 3 day before my 16th b-day.
Then my dad found me a two 72 bugs to pick from this guy had. Both where orange an ran , one had a sunroof an the other did not , but it did have a wonderbug 38 ford fiberglass bolt on kit... What one would u have pick at the age of 17??
I still have it at the age of 35.

So dad takes me an drops me off an leave me with the car an no ones home. I get n start it up an shift left pull back an then left again an no reverse, try again an again an just grinding... This was before cell phone so I walk next door an call dad at home after the 30 minutes it takes to get home,for him to tell me the all important PUSH DOWN then left trick to me. Lol
Drove it like any other" normal "car ( gave it he'll every witch way...) but it was when I drove it in the dippest snow still to this day (2' or less) that hooked me for life!
Would take way to much more typing to tell u how I got the Vw's I have today as a few of u are probably already to point out my bad spelling an English... It gets the point across an it take a smarter person to figer out my words anyway, so now for getting this far in my post the projects..

The 72 is promised to my 10 yr old son Memfis Lance. If he don't want to ratrod it, I would have liked to air ride it for off- road to a stockish hight. Then wider on/off road tires with kc lights an a winch behind that grill.... Color would have to be all him.

Then I got a red lowerd 95 cabrio.nice but not my old bug..
Talked a guy(turned out to be a Vw mechanic @ Don jacobs lex. Ky) I was tattooing out of this 78 puppy that was in alot better shape an running with a qrt a day oil leak when I got it. Want to lower, sand very lil, an all red seats and panels inside. Just need the new clutch that's in sidedoor weighting on stuff to fix oil leak...

Running one day like u just in plugged it... Never found problem an traded it off...
Had a few rail buggys I broke an traded...
After 10 years or so I found me this 74 baja that has lit the fire back in my heart for Vws. I had forgot the looks u get when driving even a stock one!!
Gave $600 with no motor, but then found a barn find motor!! Blew #3 after a few months. Love this one like it is!

Then before I got the baja home, got this for parts or ratting. $300 for single port motor , swing transaxle, king pin front that has no torsion support on only the left spindle..?
