Like the title says I'm from NW Florida. My son is 12 and is going to need a ride in a few years. I thought a vw resto would be a great father/son project and at the end he'll have a cool ride. I picked up a 68 with a 1600. It's got Baja fenders and that's the look he wants. Ole' Dad stumbled onto volksrods and I'm going to look at a 66 for me. I hope to learn on the Baja and then start on the second car with a little experience.
I'm a USPSA shooter and I build my own race guns. That's where I've learned most of my metal working. That and the 80 cj5 resto that I only need to finish rebuilding the winch to finish.
