If that's what's getting an A in shop class these days, it just affirms my curent opinion of our school systems. I'm hoping you for got a finished picture. No offense to the work he did.... but really, was it originally a Fiat or something? lol

Ok so if class is approx 1 hr long (they are here and have shop class now in High school) That's 1 mos, (weekends off ) they put it back together, did some minor body work and got it to that stage?
Hope they finish it.

Either way, kids doing hands on work is cool. Wish more of them would. The bed looks nice too
Keep them going~

I've learned it's the effort put forth these days that gets grades , NOT the actual end results.

Can it be finished at home? If so, get em on it

sounds like he was probably gradd on the actual bodywork, not the overall project.. That's cool.... at least he's learning something useful.

These days it seems that if you can get a kid to do something non-video-game related, you're doing well...great, I sound like one of my uncles from back in the day. But back then it was TV....

ought to realize that a one hour class is not one hour because of roll call etc. and don't forget getting tools out and putting them away. by the time all is said and done they learn the processes.

i agree anytime they get hands on experience is great. Remember they are not you.

This is the day after his ninth birthday last September....

I just gave directions and loosend the tight bolts.

He is always helping me out...
This is last week. We took it all the way apart from a long block.

You just have to make it fun.
Oh and his school science project was on internal combustion engines.

I'm just stoked to hear they still have a shop class!!

Around here they've gotten rid of anything but "Home Ec"

I can't count the number of old school mechanics that got their start in High School shop class. Gave them something productive to do, kept them out of trouble.

Looking forward to seeing the project finished! Give him a thumbs up from ol' Fungus!
