VivaChas! New To Site
Re:: intro post
Greetings from the Texas Hill Country! Always had a thing for vintage rods in general with a most disturbing addiction to hot-rodded VWs - built a couple up yonks back in the seventies and never got over it. I think it has something to do with lying on me back adjusting valves ~:0)
Now what with teaching - graphic design - and running the VivaChas! website - making photos in the region - I've decided I don't have enough to do and am currently working on a 51 Willys Truck project. When that's finally done, my next rod project will be a type 1 VW Rat Rod. That's why I'm here - to do what I call, "thinking in a direction". To build what I'm contemplating, I begin to think (plan) in the next direction I will be taking. I have an air-cooled ride in my future - I'll let ol'what'shername (the trouble and strife) hand me wrenches and bring me the odd fourecks (her contribution to my projects until she decides it's time for a nap - ha! - gotta luv 'em - I think it's a law or something)
I noticed in the classic pin-up section of the forum that they are - by-&-large - of the classic American Iron hot rod variety - I have some American Iron shots from my own work - maybe I'll get a chance to post a few of those - but my goal here is to learn more about my upcoming VW project from watching U guys while contributing what I can - thanks ~:0)VivaChas!
