Storage help near Dublin, CA - Cut-Weld-Drive Forums

I am hoping someone may be able to help me out with some temporary storage near Dublin, CA.

I am visiting my Dad next week for a couple of weeks and driving up to San Fran area from AZ.

On the way, I am picking up a Ghia shell for my Vivian project. The thing is, he lives in an HOA area and I don't want to "piss off the neighbors" by keeping a 16' flatbed with this shell on it parked in his driveway.

I was hoping that I could drop the trailer for about 12 days with a fellow volksrodder that has the space and wouldn't mind and then pick it back up on my way home.

Thanks Carlene! If I ever come to GA, I would definitely try to visit with ya'll. I have a VW hood hanging in my garage that really needs a dragon airbrushed on it. I keep thinking I may still try to get you to do it for me, just wondering about the price of shipping. Price of brushing and striping is no problem. My best friend lives in Savannah and when he gets back from Afghanistan I may plan a trip out there, so I am still thinking about that one.... will definitely keep you posted!

Some additional information....

I am driving up the 101, through San Jose towards Oakland. Dublin is just east of there. I was wanting to drive home on the 5 (little bit faster) and not back through San Jose and Salinas etc.

It is a beautiful drive that way (I used to live near Salinas) but faster on the 5.

I know some of you guys are up in the San Fran area, and I would love to be able to visit and see some of your rides in person, but that may not happen this trip.

I am in Campbell (surrounded by San Jose) and don't have to deal with the HOA bullshit. I've got space in the driveway as well. Though you would have to take 101 at least back to 152 to get to 5. Let me know!

Hey Rob,

So we are planning on coming through there on the evening of the 29th to drop the trailer if that is OK. We want to come back and pick it up on the morning of the 9th, unless you need to be at work or something, then we can get it the night of the 8th. Does your friend Matt still live in Pleasanton? That is just across the highway from my Dad. I can PM you the rest of the information if this is still OK.

We made it safely home!

One of the interesting things about our trip is that we visited the Muir Woods. This is a small forest still populated with some massive redwoods. The interesting part of these woods is that they are named after John Muir. My Dad and I got into a discussion about John Muir. Turns out, the first John Muir was a pretty famous naturalist and the woods are named after him. My interesting tidbit of information to my Dad is that his grandson was the John Muir (He changed his name) that wrote the VW bible.

We caught a baseball game (three generations together - really cool) at which the A's won with a walk-off home run in the 13th inning.

Toured Alcatraz and got an idea for another build (after Vivian) so stay tuned for that one too.

All and all, we had an awesome trip, spent some time with family, and got to meet a member of the Volksrod family.

Got home, dogs didn't burn the place down throwing mad parties, so that was nice.

Now it is time to get back in the garage and make some room for the never ending list of projects.

Too bad no one made an offer on the kids......could have used the money!
