Hi

They call me Bruce among other assorted names. Born again noob who bought a 67 bug. I had a 69 and 70 way back when the Cal Look was the rage along with big hair bands!

I had no idea 67's were like some holy grail to some until I introduced myself on Samba. I caved to peer pressure and changed my mind on the volksrod gig and decided to go low-resto.
Today I saw the light... somethings got to give, let the fenders hit the floor! I guess I am a sinner...

Time machine... I was into the mini truck scene way back and had a chopped top, step sided Ford Courier that was on the cover of Mini Truck w/ a 3 page spread, and in numerous mags for event coverage like Truckin magazine. I have had Mustangs, and a Elky SS, big mudder 4x4's, Harleys and vettes. Its been a while since I have had a toy and my heart is happy again, and some sunshine is shining in my screwed up world. My old broke fat ass is happy!

Had slight tap in front, apron pushed in slightly, qtr panels with small wrinkles, and hood slightly misaligned. Brazil rust bumper up front, OG rear bumper with 68 seats (gonna lop off the headrest)

OK... I took the plunge today (feel like a Acapulco cliff diver)... I order the rebuilt adj beam (50/50 adj) with dropped spindles along with the beam extender and brace from Dbug41. Went to HF on my lunch to buy a sawzall... and busting out my sketch pad. I hope to have the front end off this weekend so as to be ready when my stuff arrives.

Thanks to Ken (Volkswagnut) for befriending me on Samba and saving me from the purists after I posted I want to cut shit up... they were quite civil but that could have been the calm before the storm

When I bought it I knew the front had been tapped, after getting the fenders off tonight I see they were worse than I thought... which was cool since I feared my first cut on my 67. Tomorrow I bust my bug cutting cherry and after work cut off the apron and the qtr panels.
