Project 450
How we doin guys I have been looking at this site for about a year now. Durning this year I was waiting to find the right platform for a project. Well I found it last week it's a 1963 bug with a sunroof! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1342372131.691068.jpgthat right there is where she started the day I picked her up have done some small work on it but nothing big o did I mention I paid 450 buck and she drives! Help me figure out a direction guys!

Direction ? OK....I suggest you make a volksrod out of it. Welcome to the site newbie. Don't forget to tighten your seat belt. It might be a rough ride for a bit.

Working with a buddy is a great idea. That way you can keep each other from making dumb mistakes. On the other hand , there is also the possibility of screwing up twice as bad !!!

That's the next step I'm gonna pull the whole beam out and clean it up then extend it but idk how far to go 8 or 10?

First get it titled and registered
Then get it running
then get it street legal
Then paint it flat black and drive it for a while.
A Baja bug, lowered and on street tires is cool

The amount of the front extension is personal taste and also dictated by clearance for the steering box. Talk to Doug (dbug41), he can fill you in with all you need to know and how to buy one of his extenders.
You can sell those centerline type wheels to get some that are more volksrod style. You are way ahead by having a running and driving car to begin with.

Thanks for help guys. The center lines will be gone soon my buddy has a 69 with the stock steelies that I'm gonna throw on there. We are having some trouble finding wire wheels if you can help the would be great.

I am pretty sure you have the rear pipes mounted on the wrong sides of the motor.
but it different.

Idk they might be! But I try them on both sides and they only fit one way and that's the way they are on
