try searching, involve the words "louver" and "hood"
basically that's what you are asking all of us to do for you. someone MIGHT remember whose it is but my memory sucks so I SEARCH.

Find a sheet metal shop that punches louvers or call some of the local hot rod shops and ask who they recomend to punch louvers. Will likely not be cheap however.

Re: does anyone have information about this hood any help would be appriciated thanks
Hey Pariah ... What's pepboys ??
Good on ya John and Unk ... sometimes new people need a hand up ..
Yes there's a search function, but sometimes people don't even know what to search for ... example ... I did a search for "hood louvre" (yes - that's how Europeans spell it) .. try it and see what happens ...
Newbs are always newbs for a few months ... and all newbs ask "dumb" questions ... Some stay, some don't ... but slapping them around just because YOU think they're dumb is smartassery ...
I look at it this way ... one hand up is acceptable ... three is normal ... why not cut people a bit of slack before you poke them for asking and frighten them off ...
I got a CBOTM last year - but I'm still a newb, and I just learned not to ask dumb questions pretty quickly ...
So let's show a little respect ... eh ?
Or is volksrods.com becoming the new (anti)Samba ??
No .. you may not be able to buy one from a store ... but finding a shop to make one would be easier if someone on here who came from Las Vegas could tell him where to go ... no ??
Personally I think louvres were already overdone by the time I was 25 .. and that was 40 years ago ... but that's a different thing to criticise ... eh :)

Re: does anyone have information about this hood any help would be appriciated thanks
Ok, before folks get the bunching started ~ background reading, a young kid who has posted pics of a project that seems to be coming along nicely, asks a simple question. At 15, he may not know what 'louvers' are.
KDF mangler is a really cool car.
Sorry kid, we've had a few newbs that kinda burnt us out lately so we tend to jump early.
The family is quite nice once they get to know you.
Searching around is a big thing since so much has been posted here.
Several cars have it, front and rear, some done quite tastefully.
As Jon said, check with a local fab shop. Doing it at home, could be costly.

Project looks good so far
Are you doing all the cutting and welding yourself?
Welcome to the crazy side

Re: does anyone have information about this hood any help would be appriciated thanks
yeah, after posting I realized you're new to the world, let alone new to volksrods.. PM is right, I jump early.. sorry about that.
There are a LOT of things you will see here and other places that you can't buy in stores. like others said, shops may be able to cut em for you, but I think it's a couple of bucks a cut.. that hood might cost more than $150 to duplicate..

There used to be a list here some where on common terms. It may have been lost in some past upgrade gliches. But read thru those first 2 posts and you may find some other useful terms :)
But I'll give you extra credit for posting a pic with your question :)
(Btw, before anyone else jumps ya, some punctuation is much appreciated to most of us older folks ;) )
Keep up the good work!

Expect to spend $3-$5 for each louver.
Most of the time, is in laying out the pattern.

Look on the samba in the classifieds. There may be one for sale on there since some people dont like them, personally I do have the deck lid on my 65 bug louvered so I do like them if it is done right. I have seen some bad louver work. Keep up the great work.

Don't know how far you're going with the louvres, or if you're running fenders, but here's a guy with front fenders louvre'd (or however they talk)
Maybe he has a matching hood.

Aww, sorry kid. I knew it was for a bug, but I didn't look to see what he had. It wasn't a hood anyway, I knew it was a long shot.

Re: does anyone have information about this hood any help would be appriciated thanks
I have always liked the look of louvers done in moderation, but after doing body work on cars I can't stand them. From my experience you're going to spend somewhere in the neighbourhood of an hour per louver getting them straight and looking really good.
The only time I have been around a louver press was at Wyotech but I can tell you it is worth paying someone to go through the pain of doing it than the classic "I'll do it myself somehow". I seen instructors and students both ruin perfectly good panels by hitting the button too soon, or not getting it just right. It's almost like you get complacent and bored and just say "yeah that looks right" wham.. "fuck..."
