Pomona swap meet August 12th - Cut-Weld-Drive Forums

Is anyone going to this? Going to be a hot weekend in the sun. I've gone several times but have never gone to see the cars. I get there while it's dark, walk the rows with a flash light, sun comes up, & by 1:30 I'm not all the way thru, & they're packin up. I think since I took my bug for the first drive last weekend, this time I might cruise it over there. Get the good parking & check out some cars. Last weekend was treffen 14. Was cool, but not very many customs. Most were samba friendly, although one had a shifter so tall, the sliding roof had to be opened to use it. It would be cool to see some fun cars at Pomona, make the drive worth it. (What am I saying? The $8 a slice of greasy pizza & fountain sodas without lids is worth the drive alone.)

I work the 11th too, am broke, and got a pile or parts for both the bug and the bike that are getting tired of me ignoring em.. :/

Why does the Pomona swap always come around before a payday & not after it? I'm always broke too, that's why I'm telling myself I'm going to see the cars. In reality I'm probably coming back pennyless. Someday we should go in together on a square & off some old parts.

this whole site is from 2004... but that thread was last posted in on June 6th..

a lot of the more common threads are very old, but they are still used.. I imagine this thread will be merged with the existing one soon, so don't be surprised if you don't see this on the page anymore, it was just moved..

Aww c'mon, I know how a thread works. I found it going backward from '04 towards today starting in pages 4 hundred something. Didn't realize it was last posted so recently. First post was dec 2007 so I didn't read the whole thing to see who attended back then. But it gave me the idea to ask. Yea I'm a newb, but I can't do anything about it. I was just trying to meet a few people & see their work in person, become more than a stranger. I post, I participate where I can. I'd just delete the damn thread if I could, seems like nobody is going anyway. I'm over it. Dammit, my dog just farted on my lap!

calm down nancy. haha, we try to go, but most of us wind up busy, or forgetting.. I've lived in southern california for 6 years now and I've only made it twice, once in 2008, and once a couple months ago..
