Tempered glass, good luck. Some people say it can be done, but have never seen it done. I had the same problem with the rear glass of my chop..went plastic. If your rear glass is flat then just get new safety glass (laminated) that you can cut or get made to your temp. cheap.

No such luck, mine is curved...Really didnt want to go with lexan, or any plastic due to the results of sun and weather....Plus it will be urethaned in place

Like has been stated, toughened glass cannot be cut down. The best you could hope for is a small amount ground down, but the risk of breaking is high. Laminated flat glass can be cut to suit any use but can only be curved during manufacture.

I always thought the rule for roof chops is to have the glass already and form the body to suit.

Show us what ya got fella

Curved rear window, in a pick up ?
Sounds interesting.

I think the convertable rear glass is laminated safety glass.

Am using bed floor and bulk head from 2000 s-10 truck bed, have new metal broke for the sides, using trailer fenders to dress out the stock mismatched ones, will modify lower half of original rear hatch for tail gate.....Every other pickup build ive seen has flat glass, and a flat rear cab, mine will be rounded to match the styling of the car........

Consider using the windshield from something,
and cutting it down to get what you need.

if you look at pics, the window opening is too tall, dips 1 1/2 below top of bed line , original glass measures 19 in tall.

Look around at the newer cars and suv's with the full sun roofs...."panaramic roof .........

You can get the glass panels sometimes when the dealer has to warrenty the mechanism........i have a few stashed away for that very reason..........you need to get friendly with a bodyshop guy or glass guy

Thats my goal , will keep vw badges on grill and tail gate, also the reason i'm taking my time with the inside of bed area, and using truck bed floor metal, when finished it will be lowered on custom wheels n tires, i am keeping the sun roof we recently modified the switch to where it will tilt open only...want it to appear to be a factory truck..........

Shorter window looks better.

Good luck with the bonding.

Cut the fiberglass frame off and make another one (opening) out of metal. It will be better in the long run.

Yes you are correct, thats the route i'm taking, gunna start cutting old frame to shorten and widen to fit this glass, luckily it is only beutle so its soft and easy to remove. Will use urethane to install when finished.
