Default question about street extention
Re:: how did you do it?

using the splined shaft off the stock VW, what size joints should I be looking for, I got a double jointed shaft off a toyota MR2, I thought looked right but when I got it home one side is too small other side it too big.

Try the parts from a super, I used them on my rail buggy & they look just like the set up that's on my car

Ron, Thanks. I saw a super steering shaft on appletree auto's site last night and was wondering if it was the same, I'll make the trip down to Birmingham and the local VW yard, i'm sure he will have one!

Why not measure the shaft you have? Or take it with you to see what matches up.

Drscope, I should have taken the shaft I have with me 1st time around, but I already had that part mounted and it would have meant a tear down and yes I'm lazy, but looking back on it now it would have saved alot of trouble in the long run, I did get a sterring shaft off a super today, I never knew what a pain it would be, once the tank is out the top bolt is fine, the bottom has to be loosend from the bottom of the car, and guess who forgot a jack? but I got my old fat ass under it and finally got it off, steering is looking really easy on my car now, LOL!!!!
