Default Obtaining my dream racer...

I just picked up the body of a racer that I have longed after since HS. It was originally built in 82, I believe. I will go pick it up in the first week of June, but I bought it last evening
I am hoping to bring it back as it appeared, if the builder gives me the his blessing to do so.

I just scaled out a picture of the car, based on 15" wheels. That puts the wheelbase at 81" and my dunebuggy pan is 80", so...
Of with the buggy body, no with the speedster body.

Apparently images are deceiving... Was told it is a 102" wheelbase.

More updates on a car I haven't yet seen in person...
The wheel base is 85". The 102" wb was on the later LGK 3/4 when an LME body was stretched and run under different colors.

I'm trying to sort the direction for the car. It was originally a mid-engine chassis. I could probably go this route, but I am looking at an extra year to do it. Or, I can make it look like the LGK3 but run a shortend pan (have one coming with it) and a cage. Nostalgia look, or nostalgia correct? That is what I am wrestling with.

Started the body repairs... many to do, but the first priority was a major break above the LR wheel.

So... body paint redone, or body with battle wounds?

What say you?

Ian, that I can't do... don't have the chassis, bumpers or the midengine. Are you just saying use the paint that is there?

IMHO, I'd say go with the current look. The cosmetic damage is part of the car's history. Once you're on four wheels, you can always change your mind.

How about original appearing, from a distance.

Nice score
I seem to remember seeing that car somewhere, what year was it when the original owner raced it?
