Default OFFSET help 18x8 wheels on rear

ill be running 1 1/4" wider rear fenders and plan on running 18x8 wheels.

struggling going through all the different websites to find a conclusion. I can order the wheels to my specified offset -

ive read various post of people running 17x7 ET 40 under stock fenders - am i close if i think i should be able to run 18x8 ET 28

if ive calculated right should fit under the wider fender nicely

anyone have any insight or have done this similar setup,

thank you.

My vert had 16 x 7 wheels under stock rear fenders, so I don't think it will be an issue, but one thing you do have to watch for is the clearance between the inside edge of the tire and the spring plate. I ended up running spacers.

Might be worth your time to make up a jig to test it out.

thanks guys - i also called topline parts since they are the super experts - on the phone John, did the math to eliminate the spacer and account for the wider fenders.

he recommended 5.25" backspacing which he said will clear internal issues and still fit under the wider fenders.

since the wheels are set to my specs im hoping this will be perfect.

i also asked airkewld and they suggested 5.125 so both were super close - so im feeling confident

thanks
