Default Old friend returns to the stable
Re:: My old '79 F250

Some of you remember my old 3/4 ton Ford.

And you might remember that I sold it to buy my '63 International Scout. Then about a year ago, in a storm, a large oak tree fell on it...

We'll, I just became the 2nd and 4th owner.

No. Not an rpu.
Yes. It's a long bed.

I bought a dent and rust free, replacement cab from a '79 F-150 off Craigslist for $200.

I will be driving it home tomorrow. Yes, it still runs and drives perfectly fine. They don't make'em like they used to.

Very nice boss. The plan is to let the boys use it as their first vehicle. With a three speed (granny low) they can't get into to much trouble, and there is a lot of Pittsburgh steel between them and opposing traffic.

She is doing great. We now go to stores and she is fine around others. We went to Whataburger and she laid under the table (that's the preferred method) and never made a sound or tried to get any food.

We are now starting to work on my specific needs that she is actually for. This is where she actually gains the title and certification as a "service dog".

By the way, I just drove the truck home. Had to put a tarp over the windshield because it is going to rain tonight.

The old fella ran and drove just as perfectly as when I owned it before.

Excellent. Sounds like things are going in the right direction. Are you fixed for funds on that now? I have to admit I haven't looked in a while to see if you made your goal or are you short or over... that stuff.

I should have a few extra bucks in a few weeks to share if needed... just gotta make sure I still have a job... LOL

That's great news, glad to hear it

Every year on the 1st Friday of August there is a fundraiser to help people in our township, it's a softball game of men dressed in drag, it's called "The Skirt Game" this year is it's 40th year, they helped me & my family out during my transplant, anyway there are always people with service dogs there, it sčems to be the hottest days of the year, knowing your not supposed to pet them my wife & I always end up buying a few extra bottles of water just for those who don't bring anything for their dogs, we pour it into our hand & let them drink from our hand like it's a bowl

Agree. My great niece just got her drivers licence. Took the test in the 67 Dodge half ton I gave my nephew when he got his licence many...many years ago. She claims the truck is now hers and doesn't need any thing else.
