Well...I start when I get up around 7am and drink it until I go to bed between midnight and 1am most nights. That works out to less than 8 oz an hour....and lots of trips to the bathroom.

Not mine, but pretty close to the colors (pale green and inverness green):

Close. The actual inspiration for the roof line came from my good buddy Al's '60 Starliner.

Re: Type 3 VolksRod
The rear quarter panels on the '56 hardtops were notorious for fatigue cracking right under where the roof joins them - do you expect any of that from flexing when the doors are slammed? You have much shorter/lighter doors than the Ford did . . . .

I know how he does it! Only mine's Diet Coke. If John and I ride together we need a squareback and a trailer!

Re: Type 3 VolksRod
I don't know how anyone can drink diet anything.
Even the regular stuff tastes like shit, since they quit using real sugar.

Re: Type 3 VolksRod
I usually hate all diet sodas but I found that I actually prefer Diet Sundrop to regular and I can drink it and not really taste that it is diet. After my kidney stone...I really try to avoid sodas at all, but it's hard sometimes.
OH yeah, They are still selling Throwback Mt Dew... made with real sugar. Don't know if it's actually cane sugar or beet sugar, but it's way better than regular Dew IMHO!
And I STILL don't know how the hell John drinks all that Dew!! :)

Re: Type 3 VolksRod
Just so you guys know, DIET doesn't always mean it's better for you! It can actually cause headaches and make you GAIN weight~ research it~
Hey John,
Is it done yet?

Oh yeah I know, I just realized sugary items were giving me a specific problem, overall in the case of soda I think diet is even worse for your health than the reg variety.

Re: Type 3 VolksRod
It's the aspartame that causes problems.

plus Mannitol, Sortitol, Xylitol, and a bunch of other crap
that doesn't actually need to be used, like High Fructose Corn Syrup.
Corn Syrup does not taste the same as Sugar.

Re: Type 3 VolksRod
Might I suggest 'Beer,' the refreshing alternative. Though mostly I drink iced tea and good old H2O.

Nope. Not done yet.
Might have taken a slight step backwards today. After getting a tab welded onto the upper front corner of the RH rear fender so I could bolt that corner in place while fitting the rest of the fender, I spent several hours beating, cutting, welding, stretching and shrinking the same RH rear fender trying to get the wheel well to sit properly.
Finally gave up with very little progress made. Thinking about cutting a significant piece out of that fender and replacing it with new sheet metal since it has been so tortured. Will see how it looks tomorrow...
Sorry no pictures.
Oh I also spent about an hour stripping the last of the rattle can black paint that Brian Fye and I sprayed on there for the Sled's ride out to the 2008 Invasion. Good riddance!

It's the right choice. With all the great work you have done, it's no time to start skipping needed steps. Too many impressionable volksrodders are watching your example.

Re: Type 3 VolksRod
Good riddance to the rattle can paint, or to my sorry help? Either is probably correct! Is the issue on the fender with the original skin or with the filler metal?

Yes! It is the combination of the two and all the beating and heating I have done on it trying to get things to move around.
No work on Sunday on the Sled...but I did get the rest of my garage insulated and most of the drywall up. Should be nice and toasty in there this winter so I can keep working on the Sled!

Thanks Scott. I am really liking what you are doing with your Square. I would love to see some overall pics of your Square without all the camera effects.
