pushed my bug out of the garage to clean up a peanut oil spill (my son accidentally knocked over my deep fryer) plus this morning I limped a my buddy's 65 Mustang to the shop to get worked on (don't even say anything).
Also ordered two cases of Beer to be delivered tomorrow to the good folks at Flyrite Choppers.

Yesterday, I drove 160 miles round trip from Long Beach, MS to Mobile, AL to attend the Rare Air Club show at the USS Alabama. I won a Turkey Fryer Door Prize.

Today I picked up my sand rail and various assorted parts from Cajun66.

Anyone interested in a bug with some fine patina?

I'd drive it. I like the stance, too!

Yesterday and today I worked on moving a 16'x16' workshop. We have it moved into my backyard but not set up yet. I'm hoping to get it blocked up tomorrow evening after work and wired up sometime this week. This is volkrod related because this is my new (to me) workshop that will allow me to hook up my welder and compressor finally I'll post pics soon.

Well, I finished putting the engine for my Squareback back together and just about have the subframe and trans ready to go back in. Here is a picture of the nearl completed engine.

Not a bad weekend...considering I really only worked on the car on Sunday.

Yesterday I reinstalled the mustache bar engine mount for the bus, which I had to weld at work last week. I helicoiled the block (cause GEX send it to me that way and the helicoil pulled out ) The mount fit and I slapped the quiet pack exhaust back on, installed the engine tray, tin, and bumper and THE BUS IS READY!!!! Took my second drive of the season last night and its good to go Next week- oil change

gee thanx tom....you didnt even mention that you ran into me yesterday

saw busguy71 at our local massive spring swap meet where i was vending with vwsplitman and selling his masterseries line of coatings as well as his ever increasing line of bodywork and fabrication tools. Was a nice sunny day in the low 70's and business was great, also ran into jimw back from vacation with more of his great swapmeet scores and tom (tmvdubs) was there as well and delivered my matching pair of march '65 porsche wide 5 steel rims ....so actually there were a number of volksrodders at this event.....cool
