honestly, I can't remember...... maybe I saw the Fred's stinkbug and went from there. May have linked it off Nick's site, who knows??? I just remember finding the site and reading through ALL the tech articles last winter, lurking for a bit then signing up.

Gotta say, I'm glad I did. Cool cars, good people, etc. This place keeps me sane.

some purist on the samba got pissed when i said i wanted to make a roadster and extend the wheelbase he siad if just wanted to take a sawzall and butcher a bug come here boy im glad he did because the purist dont have any imagination and they dont have any fun

I saw a bug that I was interested in buying and was double checking the blue book asking price and came across a picture of my first volksrod. I thought it was the coolest thing ever and had to have one. Needless to say, I bought the bug, happened on the site looking for the how to's and have been hooked ever since!! It's been a fun ride.

I saw the Volksrods.com logo on a choptop window and checked out the site. There
is so much "stuff" going on here with cars, ideas, people, etc.....this place is alive!
I have found a home.

I too read about pete's accident on the aircoolers site, and followed the link here. I lurked for a long time as well, then went ahead and registered....

Been wasting a lot of time lately just reading, learning, and dreaming about modifications....

Think I might have been searching teh Googles for "VW Volksrod" (the original volksrod or V-Rod as in Volkswagen T Bucket like what Walt has.

I'm a buckethead that happens to still love old VWs also.

Fellow told me about "Girl Naked Fence", and wanted to check that out!

Got hooked on the site!

Found it the same as above, Googled Hot Rod V.W.. This is my first interaction with a S.T.F., and i'm really happy with the whole experience. This place is full of great info, people, humor, and I have to thank all involved, seeing that i am a real newbie to the whole internet thing. I always wondered how people could spend so much time on the computer, but now I get happy when I get a chance to log on. I guess the internet is for more than just porn. Thanx for the good time , I'll call you, I swear.

I wanted to learn how to lower my bug, searched on google.
Then I saw the most cut up beetle pictures I'd ever seen, rusty death traps, fenderless heaps.

I though to myself:
"hmm, that might piss off a few people....I should join this forum"

I ended up at Volksrods because I was searching for VW fiberglass body kits followed link after link and stumbled across a little black and white Beetle by the name of Rat Patrol. Then my search was over, I was going to build a vrod for my next project, and here I am
