Greeting From Iraq.
I hope this is the right spot to post this....
First and foremost let me just say that the cars you guys put out are awesome! Its good to see that some people just wont accpet a stock car. I like the quote in the begining.."hot rod in the blood but on a VW budget" something like that.
Second let me introduce myself as a new member. My name is Ryan. Im 23 and Im originally from Pennsylvania but thanks to the army I havent seen home a little bit. Im stationed in Germany (home of the VW) but currently hanging out in Iraq until January. And let me assure you after I get back from leave my first order of business is to find myself a bug and start wrenching. I had a friend who lives in Germany that has been trying to get me to build a VW...even now he emails me saying that I should build one. Funny thing is I recently agreed to do one when I do get backl. Only thing is his car clubs are all about stock and tradition...wait until they see what I have instore.
Im completely new to the VW world. Until my recent move from the states to Europe I wouldnt even look at anything that wasnt a truck. I currently own a 1999 Ford F350 7.3L Turbo Diesel. The hood comes up to my chin and it rides on 38inch Super Swamper Boggers. There are alot of other details I normally throw in but since you all are VW heads Ill leave the trucks out of this.
Anyway I dig what you guys are doing and cant wait to get my hands on one. Good thing is I have plenty of time to think this out. Bad thing is I have to much time to think this out.
Sorry that I cant post a pic of my Girlfriend nor can I look at all of yours since this is a government supplied website ( no girlies says uncle sam)
So greetings and saluations...thank you for letting me join...and I cant wait to learn more about what you guys are all about and do!! Please feel free to contact me with anything!
Ryan
